What is the Growing Confidence Development Programme?

The Growing Confidence Development Programme (GCDP) is a training programme for facilitators, delivered by the Mental Health and Well-being team.

Participants become facilitators in:

  • Raising Children with Confidence (RCWC) for parents and carers, and or
  • Confident Staff Confident Children (CSCC) for multi agency practitioners (i.e. professionals working with children in early years, educational and community settings).

 

Who can apply?

The course is open to:

  • Practitioners working with parents/carers delivering parenting support.
  • Practitioners who have a role in the continuing professional development of staff working in early years, educational and community settings.
  • Parents and carers who have completed a Raising Children with Confidence (RCWC) course.

 

What does the course involve?

You can attend an Edinburgh based Growing Confidence Development Programme or host a programme in your area for groups of 10-14 multi-agency practitioners.

The three day Growing Confidence Development Programme covers:

  • A comprehensive review of RCWC training course materials.
  • Skills in facilitation and leading group learning in emotional health and well-being

If required

  • Additional 1 day to receive training in CSCC.
